Creole Jambalaya

Ingredients

Amount Measure Ingredient
1 1/2lbs.raw whole cleaned shrimp
1 cupdiced ham
2 Tbsp.butter
1/2 cupchopped onion
1/4 cupgreen pepper
2 clovesgarlic -- minced
1/4 cupchopped celery
2 cupscanned tomatoes chopped, drain and
reservejuice
1 cupraw rice
3bay leaves
1 cupwater including tomato liquid salt
cayennepepper

Directions

Saute onion, green pepper, celery, garlic in melted butter. Add shrimp and ham, fryabout 5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and cook 10 minutes. Stir in rice, addseasonings and liquid. Bring to boil. Cover, simmer until rice is done--about 30minutes
