| 1 cup | onion -- chopped | |
| 1/2 cup | celery -- chopped | |
| 1 tbsp | butter or margarine | |
| 1 qt | canned tomatoes | |
| 2 | beef bouillon cubes | |
| 1/3 cup | regular uncooked rice | |
| 1 tsp | salt | |
| 1/2 tsp | chili powder | |
| 1 | bay leaf | |
| 3 1/2 | cups | water |
Saute beef, onion and celery in butter until meat is brown. Stir in remainingingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat. Simmer 20 minutes. Remove baylef. (May add shredded cabblage.)
