Plattsburgh Tomato Beef Soup

Serves 6

Ingredients

Amount Measure Ingredient
1 lb.ground beef
1 cuponion -- chopped
1/2 cupcelery -- chopped
1 tbspbutter or margarine
1 qtcanned tomatoes
2beef bouillon cubes
1/3 cupregular uncooked rice
1 tspsalt
1/2 tspchili powder
1bay leaf
3 1/2cupswater

Directions

Saute beef, onion and celery in butter until meat is brown. Stir in remainingingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat. Simmer 20 minutes. Remove baylef. (May add shredded cabblage.)
