| 1/2 tsp. | caraway seed (opt.) | |
| 3/4 Cup | apple juice or cider |
Rinse sauerkraut and squeeze dry. Place half in crockpot. Cut sausage into 2 inchlengths and place in cooker. Layer apples, brown sugar, salt, pepper, carawayseed. Add apple juice. Do not stir. Cook on high 3 to 3 1/2 hours or low 6-7hours. Stir. Serve with pierogies.
