Polish Kraut and Apples in Crockpot

Ingredients

1 poundsauerkraut
1 poundsmoked Polish sausage
3tart apples, peeled and thickly sliced or
choppedbroccoli
1/2 cuppacked brown sugar
3/4 tsp.salt
1/8 tsp.pepper
1/2 tsp.caraway seed (opt.)
3/4 Cupapple juice or cider

Directions

Rinse sauerkraut and squeeze dry. Place half in crockpot. Cut sausage into 2 inchlengths and place in cooker. Layer apples, brown sugar, salt, pepper, carawayseed. Add apple juice. Do not stir. Cook on high 3 to 3 1/2 hours or low 6-7hours. Stir. Serve with pierogies.
